What CountYourTax is
CountYourTax is a set of 13 free calculators that answer everyday money questions: what a salary offer really pays each month, which Indian tax regime costs less, how much of a bonus you keep, or what a 401(k) contribution actually costs. There is no signup, and no paywall.
We built it because most tax information is either buried in legal text or locked inside paid software. A good calculator should show the answer and how it got there, so every result here comes with a breakdown, the tax year it uses and links to the official sources.
Private by design
Every calculation runs in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to our servers or stored. We use cookie-free analytics only to count page views.
Official sources
Rates and thresholds come from tax authorities: the Income Tax Department, IRS and SSA, HMRC and the Scottish Government, and the CRA. Each calculator lists its sources.
Kept up to date
When a budget or annual indexation changes the numbers, we update the data, re-run our tests and log the change on the updates page.
Estimates, not advice
Calculators simplify real tax rules. They are a starting point for planning, not a substitute for a qualified professional. See our methodology.
